Grammy-winning flutist Brandon Patrick George and pianist Bryan Wagorn present The Deep Has Always Known Me, a deeply expressive recital album built around the myth of Undine—exploring themes of emerging from the water, love, loss, and transformation. Born out of the duo's post-pandemic reunions, the project shapes a narrative of intimacy, solace, and emotional depth.

The programmatic foundation rests on two Romantic pillars: Carl Reinecke's water-inspired 'Undine' Sonata and Franz Schubert’s virtuosic Introduction, Theme, and Variations on "Trockne Blumen". Interspersed throughout these expansive works are exquisite 20th-century miniatures, including William Grant Still’s lush Pastorela, Lili Boulanger’s impressionistic Nocturne, and an arrangement of Florence Price’s Five Songs, which add rich warmth and vocal lyricism to the recording.
