Distinguished German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott brings a deeply personal dimension to this vibrant collection of Baroque sonatas. Joining forces with keyboardist Irina Zahharenkova and continuo cellist Anderson Fiorelli, Müller-Schott performs on the very harpsichord his mother played—an instrument whose sound accompanied him throughout his childhood.
The program weaves together rich chamber gems by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Francesco Geminiani, and Luigi Boccherini. Highlighting the album are clever anonymous period-style arrangements of Bach works for two cellos and harpsichord, including movements from the Viola da Gamba Sonata in G Minor (BWV 1029) and the iconic Adagio from the Oboe Concerto in D Minor (BWV 974). The trio balances refined Italian elegance with warmth, nostalgic intimacy, and virtuosic flair.
