Art's aspirations are upended following the infamous attack on Pearl Harbor. Branded as the enemy within his own country, Art is ripped away from his life in West Seattle, forced to confront the harsh reality of internment camps. In a quest to prove his patriotism and loyalty, Art enlists in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team-a unit of all Japanese American soldiers.
