The aim of the book is to teach and prepare MRCP candidates for the examination by providing a basic grounding in the core subjects. The questions have been designed in the new style of integrated basic and clinical science. Recent advances in molecular medicine have been incorporated throughout, as have the more traditional basic sciences such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and pathology.





Every question has a detailed teaching answer, which should eliminate the need for continual reference to a textbook. The answers are composed not merely to answer each question at hand, but also to give a broader look at the subject and to provide a tutorial course in MRCP standard medicine.
