Most concrete structures provide satisfactory performance over many decades but a significant number experience premature deterioration and require repair, especially in aggressive environments. Existing structures represents not only a huge economic investment that cannot easily be replaced, but also a large and important investment in embodied carbon. This book seeks to give an appreciation of the issues associated with the management, assessment, maintenance and repair of concrete structures.
