Science and technology (S&T) is broadly acknowledged as an essential tool for promoting and strengthening a nation's socioeconomic development. This volume discusses significant advances in various fields of science and technology over the years, including a knowledgeable workforce and promoting innovative intellectual ideas. Amidst rapid globalization, fast depleting material resources, increasing institutional competition, and growing demands for intellectual property protection, the importance of strengthening knowledge base is an important issue for the scientific and technology community to recognize.
