In this book, the learning process is defined as learning which progresses in time and by degrees - it is planned and goal-directed. The learning process can be regarded as an individual’s development process, during which particular skills or knowledge are acquired. Before the learning process can become a conscious continuum, learners must perceive its process-like nature. The learning process does not come about on its own; it is consciously constructed by the learner and the teacher together and guided by the teacher and the teaching methods. A teacher can influence a learner’s learning process primarily through working methods, the methods he or she has chosen. Choosing the appropriate teaching/learning methods requires an understanding of how people learn. This book has earlier been published in finnish. Kirja on aiemmin julkaistu suomen kielellä.
