In accordance with the Act on Regional Development (1651/2009), the Goverment decides on national regional develment targets for a fixed period, for the purpose of directing and coordinating the regional development objectives of various administrative branches and regions. On 15 December 2011, the Goverment made a decision on national regional development targets for the period 2011-2015.
