A Finland Fit for Children is the point of view of the Finnish National Committee on the Rights of the Child, set up by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, on improving children’s living conditions and implementing their rights in Finnish society. It is at the same time a contribution by an influential group of experts to the discussion on joint responsibility for securing the wellbeing of children. The publication has been drawn up in the form of a National Plan of Action as called for by the United Nations. The frame of reference in its preparation has been the child’s best interests.
