This is the second collection of original qualitative studies produced by a migrant community research project coordinated by the Department of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Tampere and funded by the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The studies in this volume broaden the horizon of migrant research in Finland by documenting an important, new and exciting moment in Finland: migrants and New Finns coming to voice to join the societal conversation on notions of well-being and the practices needed to attain a good society for all.

There are five research reports in this book. Josephine Adjekughele on the sexual health information disseminated to teens, Fatuma Dayib on the experiences of Somalis in the primary health care system, Arman Haghseresht on the second generation of Iranians living in Finland, Lona Kuchey on the mental health care experiences of Afghans, and Tracey Powers-Erkkilä on foreigners’ perceptions of the Finnish drinking culture.
