Bamberger Symphoniker, Jakub Hrůša

Brahms: Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68
Brahms: Hungarian Dances. Nros 1, 3, 10
Dvořák: Symphony No. 6 in D major, Op. 60
Brahms: Hungarian Dances. Nros 17-21

The Bamberger Symphoniker and Jakub Hrůša’s cycle of the four Brahms symphonies and Dvořák’s last four symphonies is the first recording to give an overview of their extraordinary universe and cast light on their musical affinity, in a vivid soundscape with a contemporary pulse.

"Hrůša, served by wonderfully refined orchestral playing from the Bamberger Symphoniker, has a great deal to say about all these works. The two Dvořák symphonies are particularly exciting. Hrůša injects lots of energy and colour into the outer movements of the Sixth." - BBC Music Magazine, December 2022.
