Case Studies in Community Policing

Unique in perspective, this reader examines the experiences of nine diverse police agencies of various sizes across America as they implement, succeed and fail, and implement again--or try to--a community policing approach to public safety. Unlike other texts on the subject--that are filled with academic icons or police imagery--this reader focuses on real community policing activities of real police departments, documenting what works and what hasn't worked, and, equally important, why it didn't work.
