Opened by its then Patron, the 17th Duke of Norfolk in July 1986, the Heritage Centre, run by local volunteers, has collected an archive of material from the locality. This book shows how much many of the local views have since the town, formed by the growth of the Cotton Industry, has lost its millscape of massive factories and chimneys.
