The Flock - A Novel

Loyalty, secrets, and survival collide when a woman is found dead at an exclusive retreat in this provocative psychological thriller by the author of The Rules of Fortune.

No judgment, no obligations, no drama. That’s the intention of the weekend retreat for the Flock, an exclusive nationwide organization for Black women who have “made it.” Then a white woman, claiming Black heritage and desperate to be accepted, is found dead on the grounds. And Imani, a newly appointed executive member of the decades-old club, becomes the prime suspect.

As if the evidence mounting against her isn’t enough, Imani’s battling other demons too: the loss of her mother, a struggling marriage, mounting professional pressures, and a need for control that’s reaching a breaking point. When threats against the Flock escalate and an old rivalry resurfaces, more than Imani’s own future is at stake—so is the legacy of the sisterhood itself. As buried secrets, hidden agendas, and dangerous loyalties come to light, Imani faces an impossible choice: Does she protect the women she loves or expose a truth that could destroy them all?
