Bernard Wright was a young piano player from Queens, New York who made these two Classic Jazz (Funk) albums in the early Eighties, Bernard was only sixteen when he recorded the 1981 album “’Nard”.

“’Nard” features the two heavily sampled tracks ‘Hoboglabotribin’ and ‘Spinnin’’. Snoop Dogg sampled ‘Hoboglabotribin’ on the track ‘G’s And Hustlers’ and Skee-Lo sampled ‘Spinnin’’ on his hit single ‘I Wish’, and another highlight of the album is a version of Miles Davis’ ‘Solar’.

The “Funky Beat” album allowed Bernard to explore many areas of black music including Jazz, Soul, Funk & Break Beats. There are two standout tracks on the album - Weldon Irvine’s ‘Mr Clean’ and the track ‘Joy Spring’; both tracks produced by Dave Grusin & Larry Rosen.
