Carita Holmström (b. 1954) composed her piano trio (2021-2022) during the Corona pandemic. The names of the movements: ”A Distant Threat”, ”Safe Grounds”, ”The Labyrinth” and ”The Bewilderness”, express much of the feelings of uncertainty, captivity, falling into the unknown, broken plans and fumbling in the darkness that were felt during those times. The composer describes the trio as a journey towards survival and light.
