This is the first text to explore the application of MATLAB to the various Earth sciences. Combining theory with computer implementation—and many ready-to-use scripts useful in data analysis—it first introduces MATLAB and then discusses in detail its use for displaying and analyzing typical data sets encountered in Earth sciences such as geology, geochemistry, geophysics, or physical geography.
