Electronics is a branch of physics and engineering. It is concerned with the development and application of devices and systems that involve the flow and control of electrons. The movement of electrons can occur in matter and vacuum or in semiconductors. Electrical circuits that are designed from different active and passive electrical components are studied in this field. Active components include transistors, diodes, etc. Passive components are resistors, inductors, capacitors, etc. Most electronic devices use semiconductors today.
