The new edition of Intermediate Reading Practices reflects changes to reading skill and vocabulary development since 1992. More than half of all the readings are new. In addition, activities for discussion and listening have been added. The new edition offers enhanced vocabulary instruction, particularly word parts and families, with an emphasis on words on the Academic Word List. The third edition of this long-time favorite also includes the much-loved timed readings and word recognition drills that improve reading fluency.
