Gives an account of much of the surviving work of civil engineers in Scotland from pre-history up until 1980. This book contain 500 illustrations, comprising photographs and some historic views. It include James Watt's drawing for his Rutherglen Bridge, a view of the Forth Bridge nearing completion, and Sir John Fowler's Braemore Estate Bridge.
