Forms and shapes multiply and mutate over time in Wray's biomorphic abstractions, which the artist views as "living organisms" in their own right

Transplanting shapes evocative of anatomical fragments, cellular transformations and other biological phenomena, American artist Randy Wray (born 1965) builds his paintings slowly, over the course of years. The body of work represented in this volume, the artist's first monograph, has its origins in nearly a decade of undisturbed experimentation in the studio.
