Throughout most of history, literature was created to be read, recited, or sung out loud.  The selections on Voices of World Literature, Disk One, which can be ordered/packaged with the anthology, present a range of the many voices of World Literature from its beginnings to the end of the Early Modern Period and open up a range of cultural context for student discussion and writing.
